people don't intend to lose memories

just finished cecelia ahern's 'there's no place like home' (in 3 hours!) and i swear to god, there's no other writers that make me sob like a fucking baby while reading their books. and it wasn't a sad book (well, not so much anyway), it's such a weird genre...it's neither thriller nor chick lit nor romance - just a mix of themes of losing, hoping and giving up that made the book so good. i can't really explain it. i thought only 'p.s. i love you' would have that kind of effect on me, but 'there's no place like home' is really really good.

i am probably gonna keep this book selfishly close to heart.

watching the Oscars right now in the office. probably the first time i ever saw a gay kissing scene on channel 5 (from Milk), but i think it will be removed during the repeated telecast. i'm glad Slumdog Millionaire is sweeping up the Oscars.

i might be 24 years late, but only now do i realise that xmas is all about giving. it feels really good to see the looks on my cousins' (also my sister and sc's) faces lit up when i give out their presents to them. i'm just glad that im financially able to provide such simple act of joy to my loved ones.

belated merry xmas y'all.

so boss has gone back for her vacation (3 whole weeks!) and it's just me in my department (yes, there are only both of us in the media relations department). last friday's office bbq at pasir ris was quite a success, my colleagues loved the games we organised and i think i did a great job at being the emcee. well, considering that i'm slightly drunk on vodka fruit punch and this watermelon-soaked-with-vodka thingie, i'm just grateful that i didnt throw up in front of them.

and since my boss is not around, i am sooo tempted not to go in tomorrow. but i've got 2 meetings to attend...maybe i can just move things around so that i can go in during lunch...

oh! sc and i booked our hotels and flights to tokyo in january! i'm just excited to visit disneyland and disneysea!

fallout 3
boyundone
ok, getting fallout 3 for my ps 3 was a bad bad idea...i can't seem to stop playing it!

some initial thoughts about the game:
- not used to the oblivion system yet, first player action on my tv screen makes me nauseous.
- the VATS battle system is extremely cool! imagine slow motion battle scenes, and you will definitely find satisfaction in killing roaches with baseball bat. (and seeing the roaches inside all spill out). likewise, using the VATS system to shoot someone's head and see that head sprawling out of the body - priceless.
- fallout 3 is massive, like oblivion, probably gonna take forever to actually complete the maps.
- i feel like WALL-E while playing the game - all alone in the apocalyptic world with classic songs playing in the PIPBOY radio.
- the game, being based in USA, has lots of sublime messages about voting and presidential.
- i still feel cheated that i paid 99 bucks for this. and why doesn't my controller vibrates?!
